Local CEOs get chance to collaborate

The Tribune  March 25, 2006

Three local companies have teamed up with the Economic Vitality Corp. of San Luis Obispo County to launch a program that brings together some of the county’s top leaders.

Your People Professionals, Softec and Barbich, Longcrier, Hooper & King Accountancy are sponsors of the CEO Roundtables, which give local chief executive officers a chance to collaborate on issues that are common to all businesses.

"CEOs are the last office in the hallway," said Bob Dumouchel, director of communications for Your People Professionals. "They have no peers to talk to within an organization."

The monthly round tables give company leaders an opportunity to discuss strategies and tactics in a noncompetitive environment. The idea has been discussed locally for 10 years, but it was only recently enacted here. Currently, two round tables, with nine business leaders each, are meeting in San Luis Obispo.

The CEOs oversee firms with as few as five employees or as many as 150.

Participants include David Holmes of Holmes & Lofstrom, Rodney Babcock of NextIntent, Marci Imes of Advantage Answering Plus, Jeremy LaDuque of New Image Technologies, Sean Collier of FirePoppy, Hans Sommer of Docuteam, Michael Gunther of Collaboration LLC, Jeff Lemoine of Central Coast Laser, Matthew Wild of San Luis Sports Therapy & Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Tom Caddy of InfoGuard Laboratories, Peter Kardel of Computer Network Services, Wayne Longcrier of Barbich, Longcrier Hooper & King, Mike Manchak of EVC of San Luis Obispo County, Rick McConnell of RJ McConnell Insurance Agency, Branden M. Jenkins of Retail Anywhere, Eric Schwefler of Barbich, Longcrier, Hooper & King, and Tom Ross of Ross Realty.
